The Mandate

The Mandate

Our Mandate for ministry was received from the LORD Himself, in an 18 hour vision. During this vision, a commission was received from the LORD to liberate mankind in all facets of human existence, to restore broken destinies, to bring healing to the infirmed.

This was the Divine mandate received from the LORD:

“The hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith, and I am sending you to undertake this task.”

Today, testimonies of liberation through our messages, books, tapes, magazines and other periodicals are most humbling. The word of faith is working like fire for the liberation of mankind across the nations.

The operational mandate of our ministry is as follows:

The understanding of the liberation commission is that, it will basically be an outreach operation. The Presiding Bishop could not imagine any church connection with the commission. Our understanding then was that there was no kind of church that was not in existence and that what was needed was to ignite the fire of the Holy Ghost in existing churches through itinerant preaching in churches, instead of finding new ones.
However, one glorious day, in November 1982, the Lord spoke to the Presiding Bishop clearly from Luke 1:1-3 that “this mandate shall have a church base, all that is in existence notwithstanding”.
Today, the Living Faith Church, well known in some cities and nations as Winners’ Chapel, and has become a worldwide name
During our Easter Faith Convention in 1987, The Presiding Bishop was on his way to the platform on April 27, 1987, when the Lord spoke to him in very clear terms, “It’s time to spread out.” He declared it to the church that same day, and to the glory of God by May 27, 1987, our branch network began in five cities and towns in northern Nigeria, namely Maiduguri, Bauchi, Mubi, Azare and Biu. Today, we are in over 300 cities and towns in Nigeria, and over 35 nations in Africa, Europe and America
On May 4, 1994, as The Presiding Bishop was driving from a meeting held in Zaria to Kaduna, that the Lord spoke to him in very clear terms, “The harvest of Africa is now over-ripe, rush in and preserve it from decadence.” On May 8, 1994, with a giant map of Africa, we dedicated the mandate to God for execution and by January 15, 1995 the first set of missionaries left the shores of Nigeria. Today, we are in about 32 African nations and operating in 63 cities and towns in those nations. It’s clear again that whatever God speaks with His mouth, He performs with His Hand (I Kings 8:15). The foreign mission mandate gave birth to two organizations. One was the African Invasion Program (AGIP) and the World Mission Agency (WMA). It wouldn’t be until the year 2000 that God gave the Commission the prompting to expand beyond the shores of Africa in a programme called the Mission To the World (MTW). The church in London was subsequently born in the year 2001, the New York Church in 2004 and the Maryland Church in 2008. Clearly, the mission to spread this commission and its churches around the world came directly from God and that is why we have been experiencing God’s backing in a strange way.
On the 14th of February 1983, I was in my study going through a piece in a magazine, titled “The New Wine” when God spoke to me in very clear terms, “The Word I put into your mouth, the same commit into writing and I will cause the same unction upon the spoken Word to rest upon the written Word, bringing about the same effect.”
My first two books were published in 1985, namely, ‘The Law of Faith’ and ‘The Miracle Seed.’ Dominion Publishing House (DPH) which now publishes all my books, among others, was officially commissioned on December 5, 1992 at the National Arts Theatre, Lagos, and today has about five million copies in circulation.
In one of those days of waiting on the Lord in May 1983, the Lord spoke in clear terms saying, “I will, through this ministry, raise the foundation of many other ministries.”
I understood this to mean that the ministry would be involved in training of men & women for spiritual leadership, not only in pulpit ministry, but in all areas of human endeavours. Curriculum preparation began by the last quarter of 1985, but the school began with evening classes on September 1, 1986.
Something supernatural happened a week to the time of resumption of the students. My wife asked me, “The students are expected to resume classes in a week’s time, but where are they to resume to?” And I responded humorously, “Is it your school?” As expected, God (the owner of the school) showed up, and showed me a property at 30, Katsina Road, Kaduna, in a flash. I had never been to or known anyone in that facility, but He pointed it out to me saying, “That is the school.”
As I got to the office that morning I dispatched one of my staff, who when he arrived at that facility, met the owner without knowing, and asked him, “Sir, are you the landlord of this building?” The man said, “Jesus is the landlord, I am only a caretaker.” “Sir,” he continued, “We need this property for our Bible School,” and the man responded, “If it’s for Bible School, then it is free.” That was how the property was given to us without paying a dime from 1986 to 1989, when we left on our own volition. Interestingly, the landlord was one of the pioneer students of WOFBI.
